Bio:

The 2023-2024 school year begins Jennifer Traulsen’s twelfth year teaching second grade at Pardes, and her 33rd consecutive year in private Jewish Day Schools and tutoring in the valley. Although second grade is Ms. Traulsen’s favorite grade to teach, she has taught third, fourth, and a third/fourth combination class. Traulsen has also served as the Vice Principal and Interim Director of Solomon Schechter Day School of Phoenix. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona, and she earned her Post Baccalaureate degree in Elementary Education at Arizona State University.  Ms. Traulsen then went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in Leadership Education from Northern Arizona University. She also attended the Columbia Teachers’ College in New York for training in their Reading, Writing, and Phonics Program. Additional professional courses include Project Based Learning and Response Classroom. Ms. Traulsen is a charter member of Temple Kol Ami and B’nai B’rith Women (Judith Resnik Chapter.) Ms. Traulsen served on the Board of Directors for Camp SWIFT – a camp for economically disadvantaged youth, and she has been involved with this camp since its inception in 1980. Ms. Traulsen has also been involved with supporting the Arizona Hemophilia Association, Camp HONOR, and My Nana’s Salsa Challenge. Ms. Traulsen has two children – Josh (35) and Jordan (32).  Both attended the Jewish Day Schools where Ms. Traulsen taught.
