The music of A Chorus Line, Mama Mia, Anything Goes, Gypsy, Pippin and Mame came alive in this year’s Middle School production of For the Magic, which ran March 8, 9 and 10. Held at Greasepaint Theatre in Scottsdale, the show was created by Steven Campanelli, Director of Performing Arts at Pardes, along with Assistant Directors Sherry Saper and Anna Lock.
For the Magic mirrored the storyline of A Chorus Line as characters navigated the audition process of a Broadway production presenting monologues to the director. In addition to showcasing their acting and singing abilities, students displayed their dancing talent in whole cast as well as solo performances throughout the show. There is ample talent in the Pardes Middle School!
Over 40 Pardes students comprised the ensemble cast. Additionally, several Middle School students had the opportunity to be part of stage crew and work behind the scenes on lighting, sound and sets.
