The 2016-2017 school year begins Jennifer Traulsen’s sixth year teaching second grade at Pardes, and her 27th consecutive year in private Jewish Day Schools in the valley. Although second grade is Mrs. Traulsen’s favorite grade to teach, she has taught third, fourth, and a third/fourth combination class. Mrs. Traulsen has also served as the Vice Principal and Interim Director of Solomon Schechter Day School of Phoenix. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona, and she earned her Post Baccalaureate degree in Elementary Education at Arizona State University. Mrs. Traulsen then went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in Leadership Education from Northern Arizona University. She served on the Board of Directors for Camp SWIFT – a camp for economically disadvantaged youth, and she has been involved with this camp since its inception in 1980. Mrs. Traulsen has also been involved with supporting the Arizona Hemophilia Association, Camp HONOR, and My Nana’s Salsa Challenge.
