Meet the 2021-2022 Middle School Student Council
The 2021-2022 Middle School Student Council has been elected by their fifth grade through eighth grade peers. This year’s Student Council is comprised of:
President: Michelle S.
Vice President: Max A.
Secretary: Brynn S.
Treasurer: Garrett V.
Historian: Samantha L.
Senate:
Adam A, Alexa G, Gabriela D, Tamara R, Eliana K, Matthew M, Ruby L, Samantha D, Elizabeth Y and Jake N.
Middle School Student Council is one of several leadership opportunities for Pardes Middle School students. Student Council members plan social events for fifth through eighth graders and also assist with the coordination of other school-wide activities. Last year, it was not feasible to have in-person social events; however, Student Council found unique ways to bring our community together, including Spirit Week and interviewing each of our graduating eighth graders as a way to help celebrate them.
Spanish teacher Jessie Tolman serves as advisor to the Middle School Student Council. In this capacity, she hopes to help Student Council members hone the skills needed to plan a variety of school community activities. “In addition, I would like students to be able to exercise how to work in groups, manage time, manage finances, show stellar school commitment to the school community, and pursue the Jewish values of tikkun olam, kavod and being a mensch.”
Seventh grader Michelle S. is very excited to Student Council President. She shares, “I am honored and excited to be the Student Council President. I can’t wait for the opportunity to do events in person this year! Student Council activities are all so much fun to participate in with friends, and they are great ways for Middle School students to spend time together!”
