What do you love most about Pardes Jewish Day School?

I love how the friendships you make at Pardes, are forever. You see these people almost every day and they become your family. Another thing I love about Pardes is that since there are only around 35 kids per grade, you get hands-on experiences. The teachers are more attentive and you get more one-on-one with them.

What is one word that best describes the school? Tell us why you chose that word.

A word that I would choose to describe Pardes, is home. I came in at kindergarten, so coming to Pardes almost every day for 8 years has made Pardes my second home. All of my friends and a lot of fun memories are there. The teachers encourage you to do your best and they truly want you to succeed. I have grown pretty close to some of the teachers and they really do care.

Why do you enjoy attending a Jewish Day School?

I think being immersed in your religion and learning normal day-to-day things, is very important and helpful. Not only do I learn the necessities, but I get to learn about my religion that I will carry out through the rest of my life. I get to do and learn things that if I didn’t go to a Jewish school, I probably wouldn’t have done, such as, reading from the Tanakh and interpreting the language and stories in there.

Tell us about one of your favorite memories at Pardes.

One of my favorite memories at Pardes was our fifth grade trip to The Grand Canyon. It was only our second overnight trip together and it just bonded all of us together. We had seen each other obviously during the day, and some of us had seen each other at night and in the early morning because of sleepovers, but it’s different when you are all together, experiencing something that you won’t have with other people. We had so many great pictures and memories from all the adventures we went on. My particular favorite memory from that trip was just the bus trips. We have all grown very close over the years and it was just so fun being able to talk and just be around each other for eight hours straight.

What would you tell a friend who is thinking about coming to Pardes Jewish Day School?

I would tell them that Pardes is a loving, supportive, and safe school where your friends and school meet to make an amazing education. All of the teachers care about you and adapt the curriculum to how the class is doing. They care about not only your academics but your wellbeing. Pardes is an extraordinary school and a place you can feel safe and call home.
