What do you love most about Pardes Jewish Day School?

The incredibly supportive community of teachers, leadership, and parents.

Why do you like teaching at Pardes Jewish Day School?

I feel like I get to make a difference and give back to the Jewish Community that shaped me. I also love how Pardes feels like a big family!

What is a unique experience, talent or interest that your bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?

My education has been varied as this is my second career (my first was in the fashion industry). I bring a business point of view to the classroom and learned the importance of strong social skills as well being an inventive problem solver to be prepared for a challenging work environment. I have a passion to make learning creative, exciting, and memorable. I believe learning is most impactful through experiential and hands-on methods. I continuously work towards creating opportunities that foster love of learning and curiosity in all my students.

Describe how students benefit from the academic classes and being part of the Pardes community.

Students benefit from academic classes because they can be individually challenged. Our small class sizes allow for students to be met at their ZPD, Zone of Proximal Development, which provides each student the scaffolding and modeling appropriate for him/her to grow exponentially. The Pardes community creates a safe zone;  the personal relationship students have with their teachers allows them to feel comfortable and encouraged to take risks, without fear of failure.

What sets Pardes Jewish Day School students apart from other students?

Our students understand the importance of being a mensch. They care about others and take advantage of opportunities to be leaders.

When you aren’t teaching at Pardes, where can we find you?

Teaching more!! I am a barre instructor on the side.
