Ms. Allison Clark
What inspired you to become a teacher?
I have always enjoyed working with children. I realized I could put that love into a career and help guide, mentor, and teach those children. I wanted to take my love of learning and pass it on to the next generation.
What makes teaching at Pardes special?
Everything! Pardes is a wonderful community that allows the teachers to do what they do best. The students are wonderful, hardworking, caring, and invested. The faculty and staff care about one another and are always willing to help out. I enjoy coming to work every day and having the opportunity to work with such dedicated people.
What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
Since graduating from high school, I have moved around quite a bit. This includes living teaching overseas for 5 years. I lived and taught in Kuwait and India. I also have a range of grades that I have taught. I have taught everything from Pre-K through 8th grade. Having such a wide range of experience allows me to understand where students are coming from and how to get them to where they need to be.
Describe how students benefit from the academic classes and being part of the Pardes community.
The Pardes community provides smaller classes which allows for teachers to really get to know their students. Students aren’t just another name in the classroom. They become part of the family and the teachers do everything they can to help them succeed. Students can meet with teachers before school, during lunch, or after school. Teachers at Pardes are willing to put in extra time so each and every one of their students excel.
What sets Pardes Jewish Day School students apart from other students?
Pardes students are like no other students I have taught. The students at Pardes are invested in their learning. They seek out extra help, they participate in class discussions, and they care about one another. The students become a close knit family. Whether a student has been at Pardes since Kindergarten or they join somewhere throughout their elementary or middle school journey, they are welcomed by all.
When you aren’t teaching at Pardes, where can we find you?
I enjoy reading, going to the movies, eating out with friends, playing games, or attending hockey games.
