Ms. Jessica Levine
What inspired you to become a teacher?
Growing up I struggled in school. However, I had wonderful, caring and compassionate teachers who invested in me and believed in me. I knew one day I wanted to do the same and hopefully inspire others.
What makes teaching at Pardes special?
Teaching at Pardes, I feel like I am part of one big Mishpacha. The community comes together often and has many shared experiences. I love singing Shabbat songs on a Friday afternoon with the entire Pardes school – it makes me feel like I am home celebrating Shabbat with my family, my Pardes family.
What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
I am passionate about making a change for our beautiful planet Earth we all call home. I love educating my students about waste, recycling, energy use and carbon footprints. I enjoy making recycled crafts with my students, also known as Upcycling. I remind my students that they are the future and they can make a difference in the world. My students have wonderful ideas for how they plan to make a change for the future and save our planet!
Describe how students benefit from the academic classes and being part of the Pardes community.
Pardes students benefit from being in a flexible learning environment. At Pardes, students are learning from their teacher, from each other and from themselves. Students are working with iPads, laptops and interactive SmartTV’s. Pardes students benefit from having real-life experiences by going on field trips and having experts come on campus.
What sets Pardes Jewish Day School students apart from other students?
Pardes Jewish Day School produces students that are prepared for ongoing learning and are equipped with the 4 C’s of 21st century learning: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
When you aren’t teaching at Pardes, where can we find you?
I love all the adventures Arizona has to offer! I love staying active with hiking, kayaking and camping! My newest addition, Piper, a little white Maltese, also loves the great outdoors, she comes with me wherever I go!
