Peter Gordon Selected as New Head of School
Dear Pardes Community,
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce that Peter Gordon has accepted our offer to become the next Head of School. Over the past nine months, the Board-appointed Search Committee, with the assistance of Wickenden Associates, conducted a thorough, multi-step process through which we attracted, vetted, and interviewed many outstanding candidates.
In Peter, we have an innovative, academic visionary who has more than twenty-five years of teaching and administrative experience at two highly-regarded independent schools. Peter is deeply committed to helping our children become ethical, knowledgeable and grounded human beings who are well prepared to navigate the ethical and moral challenges of life, as well as the academic challenges of high school. As those of you who met him observed, Peter is a compelling and dynamic personality. We are confident Peter will help move us from success to success.
I want to thank all of you who met and completed evaluations on the three finalist candidates. Your feedback was critical in helping the Search Committee assess and recommend to the Board which finalist candidate best fit Pardes's needs.
I would especially like to thank the members of our Search Committee, co-chairs Dan Kravets and Jennifer Rawicz, Rabbi Mari Chernow, Gerald Elgarten, Abby Friedman, Aviva Gorny, Lauren Kreisberger, Steve Lee, Anna Lock, and Craig Weiss. Because of their dedication, commitment, and diligence throughout this process, we were able to bring out three talented finalists and, we believe, hire someone who is perfectly positioned to lead Pardes into the future.
Peter's first day as Head of School will be July 1, 2017. Peter's twins, Noah and Olivia, will be enrolling in our kindergarten class.
I hope that you will join the Board in welcoming Peter and his children to the Pardes community this coming July.
