Transitional Kindergarten (TK)

Our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program at Pardes provides a strong foundation for young learners on their journey to becoming lifelong learners. Designed as a bridge between the exploratory play of preschool and the more structured academic environment of kindergarten, TK nurtures the whole child;  academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Our Curriculum

At the heart of the curriculum is Amplify CKLA for TK, a research-based program. Our students day is built around “Big Experiences” that integrate academic learning with social-emotional and physical development. These theme-based experiences promote meaningful conversation, intentional play, and vocabulary building through repetition across different subjects and contexts.

In small, nurturing classrooms, students engage in English language arts, social studies, and mathematics through developmentally appropriate, hands-on approaches. Math instruction emphasizes exploration and manipulatives to spark curiosity and understanding. Beyond the homeroom, children participate in inquiry-based learning across art, music, theater, physical education, library, and our design/makerspace, fostering creativity and discovery.

Daily Learning Centers

A vital part of our program is daily Learning Centers, where students explore areas such as:
  • Blocks & Building
  • Creativity
  • Dramatic Play
  • Math
  • Reading & Listening
  • Science/Sensory
  • Technology
  • Writing
These centers support the development of independence, collaboration, social-emotional skills, and problem-solving. Each child chooses activities linked to weekly themes, allowing for tailored instruction. Reading groups are formed based on individual readiness, ensuring all students receive appropriate support.

Jewish Values Integration

Our curriculum blends academics with Jewish values and traditions. Students are introduced to Jewish heritage, prayer, language, culture, customs, texts, and leadership opportunities. They actively participate in Shabbat services, T’fillot, Rosh Chodesh, and holiday celebrations, fostering a strong sense of community and responsibility. The value of being a mensch, a kind and ethical person, is emphasized daily throughout the curriculum.

At Pardes, we provide a safe and supportive environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, take risks, and learn from mistakes. Through project-based learning and cross-curricular integration, students build critical thinking skills and begin to find their unique voice academically, socially, and spiritually.

We believe your children are the custodians of the world, and Pardes is committed to guiding them with care, purpose, and intention on this exciting journey.
