Professional Development during Remote Learning
May 5, 2020 – Pardes has always recognized the importance of professional development opportunities for faculty and staff and encouraged their participation at national conferences, summer institutes and other programs. Professional development enables teachers to explore best practices in education and continue to hone their craft in an ever-changing educational landscape.
One might think that during this unique time of school campus closings and the switch to remote learning nationwide, professional development might take a backseat. However, our teachers have jumped at the opportunity to participate in virtual professional development programs, including a multi-day program over Passover Break on The Reading and Writing Project through Columbia University Teachers College.
The ten members of our staff who attended this training recently came together virtually to reflect upon their experience and how they will apply their takeaways to their classrooms, both virtually and in-person. Enjoy their conversation. We know you will quickly see how passionate and amazing our teachers are!
