Second Annual Festival of Lights Program Celebrates Chanukah though the Arts

The Pardes community celebrated Chanukah on December 15 with an evening dedicated to Chanukah music, art displays and STEAM activities. Add in hot chocolate, Chanukah clothing, sufganyiot (jelly donuts), and a campus decorated in lights, and it was officially the second annual Festival of Lights celebration.

Each grade level performed a Chanukah song before the grand finale with the entire school waving glow sticks singing Ma-O-Tzur. Additionally, Chief Science Officers and faculty members led a variety of STEAM Chanukah activities for students. The Sanctuary had student artwork on display and an opportunity to use the green screen. Families also enjoyed purchasing books from the Literati Book Fair.

“The Festival of Lights was truly a special evening as we came together to celebrate Chanukah as a Pardes community – students, employees, parents, grandparents and other friends of Pardes. The beauty of the campus decorated in lights combined with the harmonious sounds of our students singing made it an evening to remember,” shared Jill Kessler, Interim Co-Head of School.
