The Schwartz Family

What do you love most about Pardes?

Pardes provides a supportive learning environment, encourages and demands teacher/parent involvement, and fosters a  sense of family and community.

Why did you choose Pardes for your child(ren)?

We wanted a Jewish day school education without compromising a strong academic foundation.

In what ways have you seen your child(ren) grow and develop as a result of their experience at Pardes?

We have watched our children develop confidence both socially and academically,  and a love of learning and exploring. The buddy program pairing up older students with younger students keeps the kids engaged, stimulated and excited to learn with peers of different ages.

Describe how your child(ren) benefits from the secular academic classes, learning the Hebrew language and Jewish studies at Pardes?

Reading and Writing Workshop, Wilson FUNdations and the Everyday Mathematics are just a couple examples of programs that allow the children to learn on a continuum throughout the primary grades as opposed to learning in a specific grade level “box”.  The Judaic studies and Hebrew programs emphasize the core Jewish values that we strive to teach at home, interweaving the lessons taught in secular academics with those values when possible.

What would you say to a prospective family who is considering Pardes for their child(ren)?

Pardes is a family…one that strives to develop insightful, questioning, independent learners in its students in a supportive, nurturing yet rigorous academic environment.
