PTech is an eighth grade founded organization currently composed of ten students on the Pardes campus. PTech's purpose is to spread knowledge and appreciation for technology. PTech members help the Pardes community navigate the intricacies of their devices, software, and apps so that it can be used to the benefit of themselves and the kehilah. They also train and assist teachers with a variety of classroom technology such as the Apple and jTouch TVs, IPEVO document cameras, Brother printers, and SMART projectors. The PTechs research, test, and critique software and apps for student and teacher use. Coming in 2016-2017 school year, PTechs will have PTech support times available to work with students, staff, and parents to answer specific questions, provide training, and conduct simple troubleshooting with technology. During the year commitment, the PTechs gain essential skills and develop a technical aptitude that is relevant and crucial to surviving in the 21st Century. They also practice the key skills of collaboration and leading others.
