A World-Class Education Grounded in Jewish Values

Pardes Jewish Day School Student Council is a leadership training ground available to all Middle School students interested in running for an executive office or room representative.

Each homeroom in the Middle School has a room representative who attends each Student Council meeting, reporting back to the class the information discussed in the meeting. Running for one of the executive offices entails a short campaign, a campaign speech and selection by a ballot vote. Sixth through eighth graders are eligible to run for president while fifth through eighth grade students are eligible to run for vice-president, secretary and treasurer. Elections are held every year in May.

Our Student Council represents our school by being role models, assisting teachers, making presentations on behalf of the school, sharing requests by their classmates, and most importantly, planning social events for their fellow middle school students. Past events have included school dances, movie nights and off-campus events, such as Amazing Jakes.

"I've really enjoyed being Student Council President this year.  It has taught me about leadership and responsibility by letting me plan events for my peers."

-Marisa Greenberg
